Sao Nam Bukit Bintang has been the talk of the town and the media both local & abroad since July 2003. It has been voted by the people to be the best restaurant in Tatler’s Malaysian Best Restaurants for year 2005 and 2006.
With an enduring French, Indian and Chinese influence and distinct regional differences, Sao Nam Bukit Bintang fine Vietnamese cuisine is varied and versatile. The menu is designed by a consultant chef Madam Cam Van and Sao Nam’s award winning chief chef Phan Minh Thien from Vietnam.
In November 2004, Chef Tien was invited to cook in Frasers at King Park Perth by the Western Australian Trade Commission. It was indeed an honour and recognition of his great skill and talent in Vietnamese cuisine.
Sao Nam Bukit Bintang is a place for many famous chefs and Michelin chefs here and from abroad to sample the subtle, varied and versatile taste of Chef Tien’s dishes.
His reputation is synonymous with his creation of mangosteen salad and vegetarian spring rolls bouth of which were awarded the best aperitif and salad in Ho Chi Minh, city.
Sao Nam Bukit Bintang welcomes you in a post war building with old colonial charm and interior of bright coloured walls with prop art and modern furniture, a bar that serve Vietnamese rice-wine cocktails and the best Vietnamese coffee in town.
